Most of our people live with cats. Detailed information about the cats living at Cowboy Cat Ranch can be found here.
On this page you can read more about the cats of all volunteers other than founders Sebastiaan and Evelien (who live together with the cats at Cowboy Cat Ranch).
"Mia is the first of our crew. We adopted her in March 2015 from a shelter at 6 months old, so she 10 years old now (2025). Mia is the sweetest, kindest, most maternal cat we have ever known! She takes care of the others like she is their mother. She is friendly, incredibly smart and loves to be held. She is wonderful with guests, kids, loves all animals, and will immediately start licking you upon meeting you."

"Milo was adopted from a rescue as a 12 weeks old kitten in November of 2015 so he is 9 years old this now (2025). Milo is a very timid, shy, sweet boy who absolutely loves his mommy, loves to cuddle, and is so anxious that he hides when he hears visitors. If you come to visit, you won’t even see this sweet boy."

"We rescued Milly from a high-kill shelter as a single 8 week old kitten on the “at-risk for euthanasia” list in 2016. Milly is spunky, fiercely protective and cuddly with her mommy. Milly sleeps in the bed with her mommy every single night in her little fleece blanket. She is super teeny, weighing about 6 pounds (2.75 kg) at age 8 (2025), but what she doesn’t have in stature, she makes up for in her larger than life personality!"

"Salem was a bottle fed baby and we adopted him from a rescue as a 12 week old kitten in 2017. Salem is now 8 years (2025). He is very strong, vocal and emotional, and he loves to be held like a baby to snuggle on your chest before he takes a nap (and he drools on you!). Despite his huge panther size, he thinks he is a baby."

"Ollie was adopted from a shelter in 2019 by someone who was going to return him to the shelter. We took him in to prevent him from being brought back to the shelter and he has been here ever since. He is playful, very vocal, extremely sweet and the most loving, gentle boy. Much like his brother Milo, he is a bit fearful of new visitors. Once he warms up, he shows you his belly and just wants cuddles. Every other cat treats him like the baby. He knows his role and plays it very well!"

"Shiloh is our calm, composed, and affectionate 10-year-old (2025) feline companion. Rescued in 2019 at the age of 5 from a local shelter, Shiloh can be a bit shy and reserved at first. He’s not one for large crowds, but once he’s comfortable with you, he’ll shower you with love and affection. Shiloh’s ideal day includes cozy, long cuddles and an endless supply of treats—seriously, he can never get enough!"

"Milo is our energetic and naughty 3-year-old (2025) who came into our lives in 2022 when I saw his irresistible photo on a kitten rescue’s website. Now, in 2025, he’s grown into a true "Tasmanian devil," a nickname we affectionately gave him because of his playful antics and the wild, fiery hue of his coat. Milo is an outgoing social butterfly who adores visitors and loves spending time on his outdoor balcony. When he’s not hunting bugs for sport, you can find him playfully tormenting his older brother, Shiloh."
— Jessie Payne
"Nova is a spirited rescue known for her talent at hide and seek and her enthusiasm for anything string-related."
— Jasmine Hughes
"Sabre was found as a tiny 6-week-old kitten in a storm drain, just minutes before a huge storm hit. His loud meow was what saved him, and that same voice is still a big part of his charm. Sabre is a spirited, charismatic adventurer who loves running outside, climbing trees, and mimicking the birds flying by. But don’t let his wild side fool you, he is also incredibly loving. Sabre will be right there beside you assisting with any task, along with a loving demand for cuddles. He’s always checking on his older siblings, and quick to jump into playtime."

"Dipsy was adopted in 2020 from a local shelter at the age of 4. Dipsy is every bit the princess she knows she is. Her days are filled with luxury: lounging on her favourite chair, getting pampered with brushes, nibbling on an endless stream of treats, and watching her favourite “bird TV” through the window. She enjoys the finer things in life and makes sure everyone knows it!"
— Brittany Lurie
"Dash was adopted with his companion Dipsy, also at the age of 4. Dash enjoys sun bathing behind a curtain or lying on top of anything his mom works on. He is the cuddliest and goofiest fluffball. He is also quite the talker and even has a hidden talent... singing! His favourite tune? Hopelessly Devoted to You from Grease, his all-time favourite musical."
— Brittany Lurie
"We adopted Korra when she was 5. We had gone to the store to look at kitten supplies because we were planning to adopt a kitten, and when we got there, we saw this beautiful, shy little girl tucked away in the corner of a cage, hiding from everyone. My husband and I immediately decided we would take her instead of a kitten, and 9 years later (2025), it's still one of the best decisions we ever made. Korra is not the shy cat we thought she was. She is feisty and affectionate, and LOVES a treat."

"Ollie was born in 2023 and adopted into a family with an older cat (Quark) and a dog. Instead of being scared he decided it was his mission to be best friends with everyone. Mission success! He warmed his way into the heart of his older cat sibling and his canine sibling and now cuddles with them daily. Ollie is big for an American Shorthair at 6.5 kg (14.5 pounds) and will complain loudly if his person tries to get up when he is in their lap."

"Quark was born in 2014 and was adopted alongside his friend Tiger. He is a tuxedo cat with a spunky personality and loves to cuddle, but only with his mom. He is a trooper and has lived through multiple cross-country moves, stomatitis, the loss of his best friend, and the dreaded adoption of a dog. He has a younger sibling, Ollie, who he is close to and will play with. Quark enjoys chasing feather toys and lives each day with joy."
